Statement

Looking at decoration and femininity has always been a prevalent theme throughout my work, working with a variety of mixed mediums and materials. My work ranges from drawing and collage to photography (both medium format double exposures and digital work), which I try to bring together through installation based pieces.

Fiona Doyle; Fine Art: Paint

Fiona Doyle is a 4th year student, studying Fine Art in GMIT. Her speciality is paint, with interests in photography and graphics which she uses in her work. She is currently working on a collection of paintings to use in the CCAM upcoming show in May. Below is a statement by the artist accompanied by two photographs of some of her paintings. Niall Murphy; Fine Art: Ceramics

Jackie Burke; Fine Art: Paint

Artwork and statement by artist Jackie Burke, who is participating in our upcoming show.

"The visual language of film is used here to prompt discussion on the structures of society. Solidifying imagery that visualizes the unspeakable. These works could be considered conspiratorial, like propaganda. The work invites others into an examination of how we are coerced by the authority of mediated images."

The final year students of the Center for Creative Arts and Media, Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology invites you to their Graduate Degree Exhibition 2014.

Opening officially on the 31st of May at TBC at G.M.I.T's Center for Creative Arts and Media campus (formerly known as the Cluain Mhuire campus), Monivea Road, Galway.

The exhibition features the work of over 70 emerging artists from the core disciplines of Ceramics, Paint, Print, Sculpture and Textiles as well as photography, video installation and performance.

The Exhibition will run till the 9th of June and will host a number of talks and tours throughout the duration of the Exhibition.
